The main purpose of the Card Business Analyst is to bridge the gap between business objectives and technology solutions. The Business Analyst plays a crucial role in understanding the needs and requirements of the business and its stakeholders, and then translating those requirements into functional specifications for the development and implementation of systems and processes.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Design business and technical requirements based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the IT and external team to find out acceptable solutions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of various payment methods & processing flows, card brand regulations, technology, and competitive trends in the electronic payment industry.
  • Identify the impact of changes to Card and other systems for upcoming projects; Identify & mitigate gaps with existing systems/processes
  • Provide support to the operational team with technical knowledge to identify potential problems and find optimal solutions
  • Manage the reporting requirements for different stakeholders (Issuer, Processors, Mastercard etc)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their business needs and translate them into detailed requirements
  • Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement, streamlining, and automation to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Analyze data related to banking operations, customer behavior, financial performance, and market trends to provide insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with proposed changes or new initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in the banking sector to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

 

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, computer science, or a related field is often required.
  • Previous experience as a business analyst in card ecosystem and payment industry or as member of card projects team is highly desirable.
  • A strong understanding of banking products, services, and operations
  • Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance requirements, such as Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations.
  • Ability to create clear and comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, and process flows.
  • Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to analyze data sets, perform data mapping, and identify data quality issues.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve issues and challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills to conduct workshops and meetings with stakeholders.
