Agricover Credit and EFSE expand their strategic partnership to support investments in sustainable agricultural practices
Bucharest, 7 July 2025 – Agricover Credit IFN, a financial institution specialized in financing farmers, part of Agricover Group, and the European Fund for South-East Europe (EFSE) are strengthening their strategic partnership by signing a new loan agreement worth RON 100 million. The financing is granted for seven years and aims to supporting small and medium-sized farmers in Romania to adopt sustainable agricultural practices and transition to environmentally friendly farming.
Access to finance still remains one of the biggest challenges for small and medium-sized farmers in Romania, despite their important contribution to the economy. The new financing will enable Agricover Credit to provide long-term dedicated financing to farmers and agricultural businesses to help them embrace sustainable practices, invest in new technologies, and increase the productivity and the resilience of their farms.
“We have always put the farmers at the center of everything we do. We are guided by their real needs, we understand the daily challenges they face and we strongly believe in their potential to transform Romanian agriculture. The lack of access to dedicated financing for sustainable investments is one of the biggest barriers to the progress. The agreement with EFSE allows us to come up with relevant and accessible financial solutions, exactly where they are needed: to farmers who want to evolve, innovate and produce responsibly”, emphasizes Serhan Hacisuleyman, CEO Agricover Credit IFN.
Oxana Bînzaru, Regional Director at Finance in Motion, co-manager of EFSE, said, “We are pleased to deepen our strategic cooperation with Agricover Credit and support sustainable agricultural business growth in Romania, enabling climate change mitigation and agricultural productivity enhancement. We are confident that in partnership with Agricover Credit, we will deliver meaningful economic value for long-term business development and resilience, encouraging sustainable farming, innovation and thus the country’s green transition.”
Financing is available through Agricover Credit IFN. Interested farmers can obtain details on eligibility for each sustainable measure directly from the Agricover representative in the region or by accessing www.agricover.ro.
