Agricover Credit IFN opens a new branch in Bacău – a strategic step to support farmers in Vaslui, Bacău, and Neamț counties

• 300 farmer customers in the South Moldova region • 181 million lei in financing granted to farmers in the South Moldova region in the first six months of 2025 • Approximately 50% market share among farmers in the region who operate areas larger than 100 hectares.

Bacău, November 6, 2025 – Agricover Credit IFN, part of the Agricover Group, one of the most important players in the agricultural sector in Romania, today inaugurated its branch in Bacău, the company's second unit in the Moldova region and twelfth in the country, designed to serve farmers in the South Moldova area, namely the counties of Bacău, Neamț, and Vaslui. The event was attended by local authorities, company representatives, and farmers from the region.

With a customer portfolio of 300 farmers, the southern Moldova region accounts for 4.67% of the total financing granted by Agricover Credit IFN in the first six months of 2025, namely 181 million lei granted to farmers in this area. Agricover Credit has a significant presence in the local market, working with approximately 50% of all farmers operating areas larger than 100 hectares in this region.
"Exactly 11 years ago, we opened our first branch in Moldova, in Iași. The fact that today we are in Bacău, with a team dedicated to farmers in the southern part of the region, shows how much we believe in Moldova's agricultural potential and in the need to be close to those who cultivate it every day. We are more than just a financier, we are a partner for farmers, regardless of the size of their farm," said Serhan Hacisuleyman, General Manager, Agricover Credit IFN.

The Moldavia region remains one of the pillars of Romanian agriculture, with a significant share of the national agricultural area and a diversity of crops. In the counties of Bacău, Neamț, and Vaslui, agriculture is based on wheat, corn, sunflower, and rapeseed crops, complemented by livestock and hayfields, which provides a balanced profile between large-scale farming and mixed production.
Although farms in the region are small compared to the national average, the pace of modernization is increasing. Investments in machinery, irrigation, and agricultural digitization are becoming more frequent and necessary. In this context, rapid access to financing tailored to local specifics is essential for the continuity and competitiveness of farmers.
Through its new branch, Agricover Credit IFN aims to bring financing solutions closer to the field, offering personalized support to large farms as well as family or small farms. The Agricover Credit IFN team will maintain its direct approach, continuing to visit farms to be close to farmers where they work. The new branch in Bacău will act as a catalyst, facilitating faster implementation of financing solutions and thus increasing the team's operational efficiency.
Nationwide, Agricover Credit works with nearly 5,000 farmers, supporting them with working capital loans, investment loans, discounting, and factoring.

Quick and easy access to financing remains the main need of farmers. Agricover Credit IFN responds to this challenge both through its traditional products and through dedicated solutions tailored to the needs in the field. The Farmer Card is the first credit card in Romania created specifically for small and medium-sized farmers, offering fast and affordable financing exactly when needed. In addition, the My Agricover digital platform, launched last year, brings financing just a few clicks away, simplifying the process and giving farmers full control over their own finances.

These solutions complement the range of traditional financing options and reflect Agricover's commitment to bringing more efficiency and flexibility to the agricultural sector. The results confirm this direction: in the first half of 2025, the company recorded an operating profit of 61.5 million lei (+2.2% compared to the same period in 2024), a market share of 7.8% in agricultural financing, and total exposure of 3.84 billion lei, up 14.3% compared to the first quarter of last year.
