Agricover Credit IFN strengthens its presence in Banat, supporting the growth and modernization plans of farmers in western Romania
"Banat is one of Romania's most important agricultural regions, an area where performance is not just a goal but a reality confirmed by the remarkable results achieved by local farmers. The opening of the new headquarters is an important step in consolidating our presence here and gives us the opportunity to be even closer to farmers. This increases our ability to respond quickly and efficiently to their needs," said Serhan Hacisuleyman, General Manager, Agricover Credit IFN.
The Banat region is one of the most dynamic in the country, accounting for 11.19% of the total financing granted by Agricover Credit IFN in the first six months of 2025, or 433 million lei granted to farmers in this area.
In June 2025, the non-performing loan rate in the Banat region was only 1.90%, below the company's average of 3.2%. "This is a milestone that reflects the strength of our partnership with over 500 farmers in Banat and the seriousness with which they develop their agricultural businesses," added Serhan Hacisuleyman.
The company intends to continue its development in this region with a strong agricultural tradition, taking into account all the sectors specific to Banat – large-scale farming, animal husbandry, vegetable growing, fruit growing, and viticulture.
At the national level, Agricover Credit IFN has a network of 12 regional branches and serves 5,000 farmers, supporting them with working capital loans, investment loans, discounting, and factoring.
Quick and easy access to financing remains one of the main needs of Romanian farmers. Agricover Credit IFN responds to this challenge with a combination of traditional financial products and innovative solutions, created specifically to support the development of local farms.
One example is the Farmer Card, the first credit card in Romania dedicated to small and medium-sized farmers, which offers instant access to financing, exactly when it is needed. At the same time, the My Agricover digital platform, launched last year, brings a new level of simplicity and autonomy, allowing farmers to access financing in just a few clicks, directly online.
Through these initiatives, Agricover Credit IFN complements its portfolio of traditional financing and reaffirms its commitment to bringing more efficiency, flexibility, and predictability to the work of Romanian farmers. The results confirm this direction: in the first half of 2025, the company recorded an operating profit of 61.5 million lei (+2.2% compared to the same period in 2024), a market share of 7.8% in agricultural financing, and total exposure of 3.84 billion lei, up 14.3% compared to the first quarter of last year.
